Summer Workshops

In our workshops, students are FULLY IMMERSED into the topic of study with thoughtful discussions, note-taking, and project-based learning.

Students have outdoor playtime each day and enjoy a packed lunch brought from home at the park.

Most of our workshops are recommended for ages 6 & up. If your child is younger, please email us before registering.

2024 Summer Curriculum

July 8-12 || $600

Theme: Coney Island

This week is all about Coney Island! We will learn the history of everyone's favorite NYC amusement park, as well as We will use recycled materials to build our own marble-run roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, and a pinball machine!

Ages 6-12.

Theme: Calder’s Circus

This week is all about Alexander Calder's whimsical circus sculpture. Kids will use found and recycled materials to build their own traveling circus inside a suitcase. 

Ages 6-12.

Theme: Latin American Artists Who Traveled

We will discuss the impact that traveling had on artists and the communities they were a part of. We’re going to focus on artists such as: Marisol Escobar (born in Paris), Botero (Colombian, and traveled to Paris ;), and Frida and her time in NY. We will make a really cool sculpture inspired by Marisol’s work, a sculpture inspired by Botero’s paintings, and a Mexican Nicho box, among other projects!

Theme: The Art Ancient Egypt

This week is all about Ancient Egypt and its endless treasures of ancient art. Everthing from the sphinx to the pyramids, from funerary objects to heiroglyphs, our inspiration will be infinite.

Theme: History of Books

This week we will explore the history of books, from stone tablets to ancient manuscripts. In our crafts, we will make several different types of book and explore various book binding methods.

Theme: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

While making a critical exploration of this classic 19th century novel, each student will build their own replica of the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral.
